How we work Control over the process. Confidence in the result.

Our process is focused on the result and our control over it. To achieve a good result, the starting points need to be clear. That is why we first look at the question behind the question. What does a component need to do? Which tolerances are critical? How will it be used? What does the surrounding process require? Only then do we determine the best route: engineering, manufacturing or a combination of both. The result is a solution that is technically sound, manufacturable and can be delivered on schedule.

Understand first, then make

At Coolen Engineering, every project starts by defining exactly what is needed. Not only on paper, but in practice too. A drawing, 3D model or product specification tells us a lot. But function, application, planning and manufacturability ultimately determine whether a solution continues to perform.

That is why we ask the right questions early: about dimensions, material, quantities, machining, assembly and use. Sometimes we confirm that a design can be manufactured directly. Sometimes we see that a small adjustment can make the component more accurate, more efficient or more reproducible.

Our way of working in five steps

Step 1

Define the technical question

We start with your question, drawing, 3D model, product specification or process challenge. We look at what is needed and what information is still missing. We immediately consider function, application, tolerances, material, quantities and required lead time. This creates a clear starting point.

Step 2

Assess manufacturability

We assess whether the component, module or machine solution is technically and practically manufacturable. Not only according to the drawing, but also within a stable process. Where needed, we advise on adjustments that make production simpler, more accurate or more cost-effective. This prevents unnecessary machining or surprises during production.

Step 3

Set up the process

Once approved, we translate the technical question into a controlled approach. In manufacturing, this means machining strategy, fixturing, programming and machine utilization. In engineering, this means design, control, handling, safety and performance in practice. The route differs. The focus remains the same: control over the final result.

Step 4

Manufacture, build or program

We then bring everything together in execution. We manufacture components, build modules or further develop machine solutions. Mechanically, in software and in practice. With direct communication between engineering, production preparation and manufacturing.

Step 5

Inspect and deliver

Before delivery, we inspect critical dimensions and finish against the agreed requirements. For machine solutions, we make sure the solution works as intended. For components, we deliver according to plan so your assembly or production process can keep moving.

What challenge can we help you with?

Do you have a challenge in mind? Then it is time to get specific. Share your idea, design or challenge and we will develop a solution that works and delivers for you.
